Questions
What people ask before they join
Safety
My carbon monoxide alarm is going off.
Get everyone, pets included, out of the house and call 911 from outside. Do not go back in to open windows or switch the furnace off. Call us after the fire department says the house is clear, and we will come and find the cause.
Plans
What is in the plan?
The visits listed for the plan you pick, a written note after each, a priority window when something fails, a discount on repair labor and a warranty on the labor of repairs we make, with its terms in writing. The plans page has the table.
Is a plan insurance?
No. It pays for scheduled visits. Repairs, parts and equipment are quoted in writing and paid for separately.
How does renewal and cancelling work?
A plan renews on the date you joined. We text you 30 days before. Cancel by phone or email before that date and the next year is not billed.
Repairs
What does a repair cost?
We quote it in writing before any work starts: parts, labor, the plan's labor discount and how long the quote holds. The diagnosis fee is credited to a repair you approve.
Should I repair or replace?
We give you the age, the readings and the repair quote in writing, and say plainly when a repair is the better use of the money.
Replacement
What size system do I need?
A load calculation of the house tells us. A bigger unit is not a better one.
Do you pull a permit?
For a replacement, yes. The permit is on the written quote, for the city or county your house is in.
Are there rebates?
Ask us what your state or utility offers. We do not promise any.
Filters
How often should I change my filter?
Follow the label on the filter, commonly every one to three months. Use a higher rating, such as MERV 13, only if your system is built for it.
